IDENTIFY & TRACK VOTERS
Having an accurate list of supporters well in advance of Election Day is key to your campaign efforts. While resources are spent to persuade and inform your voter, personal interaction and accountability are also necessary. You can increase your chances of a successful election if you know who your supporters are so you can motivate them to go to the polls.

1
PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUESTS
-
Request a list of registered voters that reside in your school district from your county's election office.
-
Also request a list of parents and staff members from your school district with any contact information available.
2
MARK YOUR VOTERS
-
Within your voter list, develop a simple identifier so that a confirmed supporter is labeled an “F” (FOR), an opponent is an “A” (AGAINST), and someone who is probably a supporter is “P” (PROBABLY FOR). As your campaign communicates with voters, try to judge their level of support. You will want to spend most of your communication efforts on “For” and “Probably For” voters in your target audience.
3
TARGET YOUR VOTERS
-
Once voting begins, you will target your list of
identified “F” voters with voting reminders - phone
calls, text messages, emails, or in-person reminders.
Let the voter know you are counting on their vote
because it is critical!
4
TRACK YOUR VOTERS
-
In preparation of early voting, submit a public information request to your county to receive daily lists of those who voted during early voting. This allows you to see if your supporters have turned out and gives you the opportunity to further remind them if they haven’t!
