LET'S GET STARTED

What you are setting out to do is incredibly important for the future of our public schools. One voice advocating for students' needs can inspire an entire community to support a school district's bond effort. Since state law mandates that school districts can only speak factually about a bond campaign, it is essential that people of the community share the impact, benefits and reasons why the bond is needed. Below are the first steps you must take to officially form a Political Action Committee (PAC) and communicate with those joining the PAC. 

STARTING A PAC

1. Fill out and file proper paperwork.

2. Establish PAC structure.

  • Recruit volunteers for various Roles/Subcommittees

  • Establish name/logo/branding

  • Create social media presence (Facebook page)

3. Set PAC meetings and communication.

  • Determine if your group will meet weekly, bi-monthly, in person, videoconference, over the phone, etc. 

  • Helpful methods of group communication include:​

    • Group Text

    • Group Email
